Tom Terrific!
Tom Brady leads New England
to its first Virtual Bowl title.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 37
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 28
Knoxville, TN -- The Patriots are vNFL Virtual
Bowl V Champions. The Patriots have returned the title back to the AFC
after a 1 year hiatus. Let's take a look at the scoring summary:
In the 1st Quarter, neither team was able to
find a way to score and it was a defensive struggle. In the 2nd Quarter,
the Patriots struck first when K Stephen Gostkowski connected on a 45 yard
FG, which gave his team a 3-0 lead. The Seahawks gained the lead when WR
Roy Williams caught a 6 yard TD pass from QB Alex Smith, which made the
score 7-3. The Patriots regained the lead when TE Bruce Boehner caught
a 14 yard TD pass from QB Tom Brady, which made the score 10-7. The Seahawks
regained the lead when WR Darrell Jackson caught a 9 yard TD pass from
QB Alex Smith, which made the score 14-10. With less than 5 seconds remaining
in the half, the Patriots cut into the lead when K Stephen Gostkowski connected
on a 48 yard FG, which made the score 14-13. The Seahawks led 14-13 at
Halftime.
Major Shakeup By the Sea
Tailback Reggie Bush heads back
to southern California.
The Chargers who have been known to make small
deals in the five years of the VNFL, made their biggest trade today. The
Chargers sent QB Philip Rivers, RB Stan Henry and LB Shawne Merriman to
the New Orleans Saints in exchange for QB Drew Brees, RB Reggie Bush and
a 3rd round pick.
The Chargers feel they brought a great leader
in with Brees and perhaps one of the most electrifying offensive players
in Reggie Bush.
